Customer Testimonials

"Thanks so much for taking the time to review my information. It has been  extremely helpful. While I know it's just business on the part of the lenders, it really hurts that some of them do not hesitate to prey on folks like me who simply don't understand this type of thing. But your insight and expertise has been more than eyeopening. I will certainly recommend you guys  to my friends and family."

K. Northington, MA

"Everyone should deal with a RMA.  My first broker was making 4.5 points on my loans - 3 of which came from putting me into a higher rate without my knowledge or consent.  Thanks MortgageTrap!"

About Us

There was a time when we were proud to declare that we were mortgage lenders.  We felt great about helping people achieve the American Dream of Homeownership.  What a privilege - to be entrusted with the responsibility of guiding individuals and families in arranging the financial means for securing one of the basic necessities of human survival - Shelter.  Most of us in the mortgage industry take that responsibility very seriously.  We’re not just selling cars or televisions.  This is a big deal.

Based upon our advice buyers are entering a huge long-term financial commitment.  If we get them involved in an obligation they cannot meet for whatever reason, they’ll find themselves out on the street along with the kids, furniture and pets.  They’ll suffer embarrassments and anxieties the likes of which they’d never dreamed.

We have a responsibility to counsel our clients with honesty, integrity, and respect.  We must strive for excellence in delivering our products and services through continuing education and improvement.

For the last several years we have come to the rescue of consumers who have fallen victim to the unethical, irresponsible and blatantly fraudulent practices of some individuals and companies in the mortgage industry.  Unfortunately for some, it’s been too late to help them repair the damages.

The past few years of low rates have just exacerbated these problems with many uneducated individuals taking a shot at making a big score and a quick buck at your expense.  Some companies have recruited recent college graduates, taught them to sell one high-margin product, and stuck them on the phones supervised by a “team leader” with less than three years experience.  Some of these kids were selling cell phones at the mall kiosk last week.  Suddenly, they’re mortgage consultants.

We’ve watched these unscrupulous operators get rich by misrepresenting products, withholding information, lying and scamming the consumers they were entrusted to assist.  The sins of the quick-buck artists are often hidden until a healthy market gets sick; until declining property values reveal inappropriate practices and outright fraud.  It happened in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s and it’s happening again now.

Well, we’ve had enough.  We’ve decided it’s time to restore honesty, integrity and professionalism to the practice of mortgage origination.  We’ve aligned ourselves with grassroots organizations and policing mechanisms that share our vision and commitment to raise the bar of professional standards in this business - an industry vital to our economy and the American way of life.  We’re investing the resources and making a public statement that it’s time to clean house and restore public confidence in the lending industry.  Those industry professionals who are as disgusted by the negative element that’s taken hold of the mortgage industry in the last few years can join us.

We are Originators, Managers, Processors, Brokers and Bankers.  Most of us have a decade or more invested in our careers.  We are redefining the standards of professional practice and require that all who are associated with us subscribe to the commitments and mission statements of the organizations of which we are members.
Conversations and messages between our member advisors, consultants and advocates are monitored.  Those who give advice inconsistent with the best interests of the clients who seek guidance from us are out.  Those who put their own selfish interests ahead of the consumers they’ve agreed to serve will have membership revoked.  Those who join us must demonstrate a commitment to putting the professionalism, integrity, honesty and education back into home lending!

If at anytime you have a complaint about a particular advisor, please let us know!
